Last week for Wedding Wednesday we got swept away to the tropical sandy shores of St. Lucia and got to witness the beauty of Brooke + Kyle's wedding in paradise. There were simply too many incredible things to document and marvel at over the five-day trip there and we couldn't fit everything into one blog, so this week we are diving back in and revisiting arguably the most mesmerizing place in the world.
A wedding is an event that feels like a performance in a lot of ways. It could be described as a live show that in one fell swoop summarizes a couple's love story and their journey together so family and friends can get a small taste of the absolute adoration that these two people feel on a daily basis. With any kind of planned performance, there is always a ton of preparation work and getting ready that happens backstage behind the scenes and sometimes it can feel like barely organized chaos. This celebration for Brooke + Kyle was no different. There was so much that happened before the ceremony could begin, with the bridesmaids getting into their light, flowy dresses and getting their hair and makeup to look perfect and the groomsmen pulling on their matching socks and sliding into their light tan jackets. Of course the stars of the show got the most attention, Brooke getting her hair braided and adorned with flowers and Kyle getting suited up to take pictures with his friends.
The morning of her perfect day, Brooke took her time with her girls giggling and talking while taking turns sitting in the makeup chair to get their flawless looks. She had her hair styled in a braided low updo so that it was kept back from her face, which made her cheekbones stand out and made the makeup artist's goal to define her facial structure and bring out her natural beauty a very easy one to achieve. She sat patiently even though on the inside she must have been a volatile combination of nerves and excitement, just counting down the minutes before she could see Kyle and watch his jaw drop at the sight of her in her dress. After her makeup was complete, her skin poreless and smooth, she had her friends help her carefully step into the gown she had been waiting months to finally put on. After all of the fittings, pinning, tiny adjustments, hours of trying different styles on and settling on one that made her feel her most beautiful, it had come down to this last moment. As the bodice of the dress settled into place, it was like she had truly transformed into a glowing and happy bride.
Separated from Brooke while she got ready, Kyle and his groomsmen had an obvious absolute blast laughing and joking together. They opted for light suits and turquoise ties which played against their sunkissed skin perfectly, and fit the location in the most seamless way. The rambunctious feeling from the day before carried itself into the way Kyle and his friends posed with their matching Tiffany blue and fuchsia argyle dress socks. They showed them off, hiking up their pant legs, jumping in the air, and posing with their feet next to each other on a bench outside. With it being so hot in St. Lucia, wearing a full suit can get uncomfortable and the groomsmen chose to take their jackets off for a few shots. The casual way they slung the coats over their shoulders and showed off tapered tan vests made them seem like Caribbean adventurers from another era. Their copper brown shoes complimented the beige of their suits and completed their look of laid back class. As Kyle finished getting ready, he had a single creamy white rose pinned to his suit jacket, and off he went to meet the woman of his dreams and make her his own.
Last week we saw how stunning their ceremony was and felt the joy of all the people involved radiating out of each picture that was taken. Can you imagine being in a place like St. Lucia and just wanting to leave the island directly after a wedding like that came to a close? Of course not! Everyone wanted to stay for another day, which opened up the perfect opportunity to have some more fun and catch more moments in the warm glow of paradise.
There was a different sensation the day following the entire anticipated splendor of the previous 24 hours. Relaxation was the name of the game and it felt as if the island had welcomed everyone as its own. Playing in the water, lounging on the beach and enjoying the sun gradually turned into cocktail hour with the sun sinking in the distance and the atmosphere becoming charged with the buzz of exotic liveliness. The dramatic evening ensued with fire dancers entertaining the party, painting bold strokes of flame through the night air, instilling wild exuberance into every onlooker and creating the perfect artistic scenes to be caught on film. With the feeling of wonder and excitement pulsating through their veins from watching the islanders perform, Brooke and Kyle found a little bar to stop into and truly let loose, having the time of their lives as a legally married couple in the place where their dreams all came true. What a perfect note to end an amazing trip like this one on!
With true appreciation for the fun, laughter, love and light that Brooke, Kyle and their families brought with them to the Caribbean we turn the page now and eagerly await the rest of their lives and what time will bring them. If we're being honest, hopefully at some point down the road we can all rejoin in that tropical wonderland for a vow renewal and experience everything all over again! We'll be waiting impatiently for the invitation to that one. But in the meantime, if anyone else has been inspired like we were by this destination dream of a wedding and wants to follow suit, please get in contact with Ron and bring his team with you to capture the vibrantly beautiful story of your own love. We can promise that no one would be more excited or do an event like this justice in the same way. Thank you so much Brooke + Kyle, congratulations and we wish you a life of sunlight and smiles!
